Within Hawaii Volcanoes National Park on the Big Island of Hawaii lies the Volcano House Hotel. Located 28 miles from Hilo International Airport, Volcano House is on the edge of Kilauea Crater, one of the most active volcanoes in the world. Guests are welcomed to this old style country lodge by a warm stone fireplace in the lobby which has burned for more than 125 years. Guests can dine on eclectic continental, American and Pacific cuisine while enjoying magnificent views of the volcano. Signature cocktails are served in Uncle George's Lounge, while lighter fare and snacks are available in the Snack Bar. Decorated with rare Koa wood furniture, the guestrooms at Volcano offer basic amenities including a small heater to chase away the mountain chill. The only hotel in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and Hawaii's oldest continuously operated hotel, Volcano House Hotel offers a tradition of hospitality by the fire.
